Sales and the 'Talent Magnet'

A lot is written about being a ‘Talent Magnet’, either as a company, or as President. It’s all good practice – listen, mentor, reward, provide clear goals and career maps. Good practice for the employer, but what about the employee?

Ekahau real-time location and communication solution

Ekahau, Inc. | www.ekahau.com

Location Made Easy

Ekahau Real-Time Location System (RTLS) is a quick and easy way to locate assets and people. With Ekahau RTLS, you improve your business operations, save money and become more efficient. Once in use, Ekahau RTLS keeps the key employees and processes visible and decreases the time it takes to find vital equipment or inventory. By streamlining operations, Ekahau RTLS allows you to focus your time and resources to your core business.

Ekahau RTLS finds people and assets real-time. All you need is a standard Wi-Fi network, Ekahau software and Ekahau Wi-Fi tags.

Make Mobility Work

Mobility is no longer a novelty. In today's business environment, it is an absolute requirement for improving productivity and reducing costs. Wireless networks provide the means for data and voice communications to keep up with the mobile workforce. Businesses are seeking ways to track the whereabouts of personnel, partners, and inventory. Adding a location-tracking application to existing wireless networks gives businesses a simple, automated way to stay up-to-date on the location of any item.

Wireless networks that are used for data and voice provide an excellent platform for building accurate location tracking systems. Unlike other proprietary systems, Ekahau relies on standard 802.11 wireless networks to deliver a comprehensive real-time location system (RTLS) for locating valuable assets and people. Because Ekahau uses existing wireless network infrastructure, the deployment is cost effective. When installed, Ekahau RTLS does not interrupt network activities or affect other network communications.

Ekahau RTLS

With Ekahau RTLS, the location of assets and people is automatically updated and can be synchronized with other systems and personnel that call for the information. Overall, the system at its best optimizes management of processes by making them visible. Moreover, the system enables new processes, such as routing security personnel automatically to the location where a tag alarm button was pressed or tamper switch was activated.

Savings and ROI

Ekahau RTLS delivers savings by allowing businesses to lower their equipment inventory through better asset utilization, time saved searching for items and fewer incidents of theft.

Other non-monetary benefits include employee satisfaction, when personnel can focus on their core duties rather than trying to find people or equipment. Location information history produces savings by allowing businesses to analyze data and optimize their processes.

Asset Tracking and Safety in Mining, Oil&Gas and Energy companies

In  large mining, oil&gas and energy companies, vehicles, tools and spare parts are needed to keep processes running smoothly. Sometimes they are owned, other times rented. Not having them available makes them useless and can prevent your staff from carrying out routine tasks. In each case, downtime can cost a lot of money.

These types of events drive the need for solutions, that provide immediate visibility and data on the status and location of equipment and personnel to either avoid a disruption or to minimize the impact caused by the disruption. Ekahau's RTLS solution can provide you with the process status and visibility to reduce errors, streamline work-flows, and improve the safety of staff, and visitors, at the work-site.

Accidents happen. Sometimes they can be avoided and sometimes reaction time can mean the difference between a minor incident or serious injury.

Managing staff resources, especially during planned outages, can have a multi-million dollar impact on productivity. Knowing the location of specialists allows foremen to better schedule and sequence tasks resulting in quicker turnaround times. Since these maintenance tasks are often inter-related, a delay in one job can impact several other jobs. Outages tend to be large operations with hundreds of specialists carrying out tasks to change out and perform maintenance on parts of the production plant.

Solution

Ekahau RTLS can help you track and manage these assets and make them available to the staff that needs them so that they can perform their tasks on time and without costly interruptions.

Ekahau RTLS informs you the location of your staff, visitors and contractors
at all times. Someone with the wrong qualifications in a specific work area? Ekahau can alert you to this. Has a portion of the mine caved in? Ekahau knows where everyone is at the time of impact. Ekahau smart tags with two-way communication capabilities can be used to summon for help as well as to let the injured person know that help is on the way.

Ekahau T301t temperature tags allow you to monitor temperatures ranging from -200C to+ 200C. Ekahau's unique T302iS tags can be interfaced with control systems, alarms and other devices to wirelessly relay alerts or status information to plant management systems. As with all other Ekahau products, our Monitoring and Sensing Solutions operate over your industry standard Wi-Fi network avoiding the need to install proprietary infrastructure.

Ekahau's RTLS suite includes advanced sensor and telemetry nodes that can be used to monitor various control, sensor and alarm systems. Ekahau's unique tags can wirelessly relay alerts and status information to plant management systems.

Product

The Ekahau RTLS consists of simple, ready-to-use components that create the location system. The equipments are tagged with a small battery powered radio tags. Tags are mounted to devices using double sided tape, Velcro or special mounting brackets designed for the purpose.

The tags use a standard Wi-Fi network for communicating and also for measuring radio signal strengths from Wi-Fi access point to the tag. The measured signal strengths are sent over the network to a server running Ekahau Positioning Engine (EPE) software. The EPE calculates the location estimates of the tags. The location estimates are based on the measured signal strengths reported by the tags. Finally the location estimates are shown to the user on a floor map or as a list to the user by application software called Ekahau Vision.

The Ekahau system is the only Wi-Fi-based system on the market that is capable of providing room-level accuracy using Wi-Fi without deploying proprietary chokepoints or readers. Ekahau RTLS can extend location visibility across the entire campus or several campuses without any additional costs.
