Sales and the 'Talent Magnet'

A lot is written about being a ‘Talent Magnet’, either as a company, or as President. It’s all good practice – listen, mentor, reward, provide clear goals and career maps. Good practice for the employer, but what about the employee?

Structural steel has become the material of choice for developers in recent years. With the cost of steel currently estimated to be 60 per cent of that in 1981, structural steel has also become the material of choice for some 90 per cent of new commercial and industrial buildings and has the advantage of having a greater strength ratio over traditionally used concrete options. In terms of style, the material offers far greater flexibility for designers and architects than concrete and allows freedom of design.

Effective fire protection is a particularly important consideration for developers when it comes to the selection of materials.  To this end, Phoenix Fire Protection encompasses over thirty years experience in the design, testing and manufacture of corrosion and fire protection coatings for use on structural steelwork, and it is this knowledge that has enabled the company to produce a wide range of decorative coatings that will provide architects and engineers with the solutions they need to overcome potential problems caused to steel structures by corrosion and fire.

Phoenix's range of primers, intumescent basecoats and decorative topseals ensure that the client's requirements for corrosion and fire protection of the steel can be met whilst providing a highly aesthetic finish that will not detract or limit design features.

With offices in the UK, Dubai, Hong Kong, India and manufacturing plants in UK, Germany and more recently Thailand complying with the latest standards of ISO9001 and ISO9014, Phoenix provides the expertise necessary to write appropriate specifications at the design stage that will be followed throughout the project until the products have been applied successfully on site through the company's network of approved contractors.  In addition, Phoenix provides full support on site to clients through its Contract Support Team.

The company has been successfully providing fire protection products to some of the world's most prominent structures by delivering a blend of unique solutions and service that ensures a smooth and fast track contract period.

With an impressive client list that includes brand names such as Rolls Royce, Mercedes, Adidas, Chanel and Walt Disney Imagineering, having the ability to provide clients with independently tested products, relevant certification & approvals, and more importantly, meaningful and realistic warranties is paramount.

With headquarters based in Hong Kong and a network of Exclusive Distributors working with Specialist Applicators in close to 15 countries in Asia Pacific and the Middle East, allows it to remain competitive and the company continues to win projects based on it's ability to deal personally and directly with the architects and designers in what is a very niche market.

Independent Testing and Third Party Certification:

Architects and Engineers are now much more educated and informed about fire protection issues of today and as such their demands for transparency of certification and realistic and meaningful warranties are forever increasing. This is not something that can be provided from various distributors selling a range of different products with very little knowledge of the stringent requirements of the fire testing itself or in deed that of "Third Party Certification" which is now mandatory in most markets and has been welcomed by renowned Architects and Engineers throughout the world.

All of the Phoenix products have been independently tested and approved to BS476: Part 21 at NATA approved laboratories and assessed by the world's leading consultants such as WFRC, BRE and IFC Group.  Furthermore all of the products have independent Third Party Certification from a UKAS approved body which requires strict enforcement of regular factory auditing specific to our range of products and goes beyond that of standard ISO Quality Standards.

Proven Technology:

All of the phoenix water based basecoats are suitable for on-site and off-site application and offer up to two hours of fire resistance, while low dry film thickness ensure a highly aesthetic finish can be achieved as a feature of the design whilst providing a competitive solution to meet the necessary levels of fire protection.

Some of these benefits that come with using the Phoenix technology are evident on many of the regions high profile projects where the products have been applied to a very high standard of finish in a short time due to the fast drying times that are available with their water based technology.

The New Doha International Exhibition Centre in Qatar, The Royal Hangers at Bahrain International Airport, The Baggage Handling System at Oman International Airport, The New Ferrari World Experience in Abu Dhabi, The PPM Conrad Hotel and The Expansion of Dubai's New International Airport are just a few examples of where the product has demonstrated its ability to provide saving's in both cost and time compared to that of the traditional solvent based products whilst providing and maintaining a very durable and aesthetically pleasing high quality finish.

For the recent expansion at Dubai's international Airport Expansion (Phase II) Concourse 3, over 350 tonnes of water based intumescent coatings were applied over 60,000 m2 of the projects prominent steel structure "off-site" at the fabrication yard, and then shipped to the site itself for erection and touch up.

The ability of the product's to be able to dry very quickly in extreme temperatures with a very hard and durable finish ensured that an extremely fast application period could be achieved whilst also meeting the clients demand for a very high quality finish.

Dedicated Client Service and Contract Support:

From initial concept design through to final application and project certification on site, the Phoenix team are ready to help clients at any stage of their project by providing in-depth bespoke solutions that fully comply with both international and local approvals with independent justification.

No matter what size of project, or area involved we can offer a full service which begins with the planning of potential steel sections to be used in order to save time and money through to dedicated on-site support with application of our products to ensure a smooth, fast track and trouble free contract period.
